iTunes is hyped so much that you may have thought that it was the only podcasting program for Mac but, although its hard to beat iTunes, iPod and Mac, there are other applications available.
A Windows Media Podcast Player and a Real Podcast Player will be coming soon but Apple was first and iTunes has played a big part in the evolution of the podcast.
The iTunes Podcast Library is the easiest place to get new podcasts, just select the one you want and click “Get” and you’re subscribed. Nice and Easy. However iTunes wasn’t the first podcatcher and the more established podcatchers have been putting up a fight for their share of the market.
One of these podcatchers in iPodderX. This features a SmartSpace system which is quite neat. iPodderX automatically deletes your really old podcasts and so it does use up loads of space on you system and keeps the place tidy. It can also handle a lot more data types than iTunes and comes packed with many more interesting features.
Podcatchers are free to download and most of the time they can run in unison with other podcatchers. So apart from iTunes you could try a few different podcatchers.
Check these out.
