Outkast are back in 1930’s gangster style with Idlewild Soundtrack
The Idlewild soundtrack is the music played by Outkast in their new movie, Idlewild. The film is set in the prohibition era of 1930’s Deep South USA. André 3000 and Big Boi play a couple of musicians in the speakeasies.
There were rumours of a new Outkast album and a new film with a soundtrack CD to accompany it. However the two seem to have been stuck together to make this new album, Idlewild.
Idlewild features more of the creative genius that we have come to expect from Outkast. Some of the tracks are just plain, good R&B led by soul singer Whild Peach. There is also some great hip-hop tunes, including one featuring Snoop Doog rapping about broken homes to a background on police sirens.
Outkast fans will not be disappointed with Idlewild as it is packed with the wicked tunes that make Outkast one of the best musical talents around today.
